Working for the universities in Wales the Sgema collective developed a landmark initiative aimed at fostering educational equity – the employability e-hub. This platform serves as a bridge between academia and the world of work, specifically designed to support students statistically underrepresented in higher education.
Empowering students with essential career tools
Launched in December 2023, and accessible through employability.wales and cyflogadwyedd.cymru, the e-hub presents itself as a toolkit for students who are preparing to enter the professional world, offering an inclusive and easily navigable resource. It enables students to acquire insights, pinpoint their skills, and unravel the complexities of various sectors and industries right across Wales.
Navigating the transition from higher education to the workplace
The transition from university to the professional workspace can be a challenge. The e-Hub proactively addresses these challenges by providing essential resources and advice on how to meet the expectations of today’s workforce. As a solution for career readiness, the e-Hub empowers students to confidently make the leap from university to their respective professional fields.
Bridging the educational divide
The e-hub underscores the critical need for equal access to educational resources, playing a role in balancing opportunities for all students, regardless of personal circumstances. With an emphasis on career development, professional networking, and skill enhancement, the e-Hub is dedicated to equipping students to seamlessly transition from university to their chosen professional fields with confidence.
Commenting on the project, Meilyr Ceredig, Sgema Senior Consultant, said: “It was a privilege for the Sgema collective to lead this project, bringing together a range of services (from research and copywriting, through to digital and paid social). We hope to have played a small part in supporting our client in contributing to the enhancement of student career readiness by creating impactful resources that support the next generation of professionals.”
